Your new go-to for effortless, high-performance fishing
The Shimano Miravel 2500HG Stream Flight XT Light Spin Combo is the perfect setup for Kiwi fishos who require a responsive, ultra-light feel without compromising on strength. Featuring the flagship Magnumlite Series reel paired with a high-performance 30/40T carbon blank, this combo delivers exceptional sensitivity for flicking micro-jigs at elusive Snapper or targeting Trout in remote high-country streams. The 4-piece travel design means you can easily chuck it in your pack and head off the beaten track, ensuring you're always ready for that next cast.
The Reel
Positioned as the ultra-accessible flagship of Shimano's Magnumlite (MGL) Series, the new Shimano Miravel 2500HG Spinning Reel is engineered for Kiwi anglers wanting a lightweight, super-responsive, and effortlessly smooth spinning reel without breaking the bank.
Built with a tough CI4+ carbon-infused body and enhanced by Hagane Gear and SilentDrive, it packs rigid power and silky-smooth retrieval that holds up against aggressive strikes. The 2026 upgrade elevates its performance even further—incorporating InfinityDrive for lighter winding under heavy load, an Anti-Twist Fin for flawless line management, a seamless One-Piece Bail, and X Protect water resistance to keep saltwater at bay. Whether you're flicking micro-jigs and softbaits for Snapper and Trevally, working egi lures for Squid off the rocks, or targeting Trout in the lakes and streams, the Miravel delivers the delicate sensitivity, casting distance, and brute durability needed to level up your catch rates.
The Rod
Representing the pinnacle of the Stream Flight family, the Shimano Stream Flight XT Light Freshwater Spin Rod is developed for freshwater fishos seeking the ultimate in lightweight performance, sensitivity and casting precision. Combining advanced carbon technologies with premium components, the Stream Flight XT is engineered to maximise lure control and fish-fighting performance across both freshwater and light inshore applications.
At the core is a high-performance 30/40T carbon blend blank, reinforced with Shimano's Diaflash butt construction to reduce blank twist under load while enhancing lifting power and casting accuracy. The result is a rod that is exceptionally light, crisp and responsive without compromising strength. Premium SeaGuide titanium guides fitted with iridescent Zirconia inserts minimise weight while delivering outstanding durability and smooth line flow for both braid and monofilament. Completing the package are premium carbon fibre grips with an integrated carbon reel seat, providing a lightweight, ergonomic connection that maximises comfort and sensitivity.
Designed for anglers who demand the highest level of performance, the Shimano Stream Flight XT Light Freshwater Spin Rod combines cutting-edge blank technology, premium components and refined craftsmanship to deliver a truly exceptional fishing experience.
