The Shimano Ocea Jigger LD 2500MG Jigging Reel levels up the classic Ocea Jigger even further! Sporting a new large T-type handle knob and 105mm cold forged handle arm, this powerhouse reel showcases a range of features designed specifically for jigging.
The Shimano Ocea Jigger LD 2500MG Jigging Reel utilises an exclusively designed, highly rigid, cold-forged drag lever that enables a smoother operation. It’s equipped with a double-drag structure with two drag washers. This technology successfully produces high drag force with low thrust and significantly less binding. It also allows the reel to achieve up to 30% reduction in rotational resistance when compared to conventional models of the same size.
HAGANE Body
The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with exceptionally high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power.
Infinity Drive
Infinity Drive is an advanced structure that produces lower friction and lighter winding. The pinion gear is supported by the spool shaft instead of the pinion gear bearing on the spool side. Rotational resistance of the gear section has been reduced without compromising gear strength.
X Protect
X Protect provides high-level water resistance to the inside bearing of the drive gear shaft with waterproof construction.
S Compact Body
S Compact Body provides comfortable palming by making the side plate smaller than the handle.
S A-RB Bearings
S A-RB Bearings are put through the same process as Shimano’s A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the rotation of the bearing.

Spiral X
Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano's patented Spiral X construction enhances catching power for anglers. Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a middle layer of vertical fibres as well as inner and outer layers, both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional horizontal fibre sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced compression rigidity and increased torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This in turn facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fish fighting.
Hi-Power X
Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.
CI4+
CI4 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fibre that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with CI4+ are further reduced in size and weight.
