The Shimano Beastmaster MD 12000 A Electric Reel is the strongest and largest electric reel Shimano has ever produced, created with the mission of achieving overwhelming power, speed and durability, for fishing in deep waters targeting giant fish. At the heart of the Powertrain which bears the name MD 'Monster Drive', is the newly developed GIGA MAX brushless motor. With 2.5 times the torque and a constant practical hoisting power of 38kg, it has achieved significantly improved performance in comparison to the 19 Beastmaster 9000. The drag force, which is a decisive factor when fighting with large fish, has achieved an astonishing 43kg. The HAGANE body, a highly rigid metal body, houses this astonishing power. While an improved reinforced gear system, whereby the reduction gear is supported by bearings, achieves impressive efficiency and durability during long fights and fully demonstrates performance in actual battles.
The synergistic effect of the new motor, powerful drag system, improved reduction gears, and heat dissipation structure provides unprecedented winding strength and speed, stability and high durability. By combining the best technologies and design, Shimano has created a reel that overturns conventional concepts. The line capacity, PE8/1200m, has been designed to support anglers that are targeting large Hapuka, Bass and Swordfish.
GIGA MAX Motor
The new GIGA MAX Motor is installed only in the Beastmaster series of electric reels. The biggest feature is that the motor has a brushless structure, it does not include carbon of copper bushes which are used to conduct current, as such there are no parts to wear out and the motor has a high durability and a long life expectancy. Another great feature is that it can exert strong power even at high temperatures, where performance of motors with brushes tend to deteriorate. The Beastmaster MD12000 is equipped with a newly developed GIGA MAX Motor that has been enlarged to achieve overwhelming power and speed. The motor has achieved 2.5 times the torque. It also recorded overwhelming speed and strength in winding power and speed tests. You can experience a new dimension of motor power from the moment begin retrieving.
