Lightweight performance with a sharp, responsive feel
The Shimano 26 Lunamis S80MH Medium Heavy Spin Rod combines a lightweight build with the strength and responsiveness needed for demanding saltwater casting. Built around Shimano's Spiral X Core and Hi-Power X technologies, the rod offers a crisp, stable feel through the cast and when fighting fish. The Carbon Monocoque Grip further reduces weight while supporting sensitivity and grip stability.
The S80MH features an edge-shaped Carbon Monocoque Grip, Perfection Seat XT and AeroCoat finish, bringing together lightweight construction, sensitivity and handling. With a Medium Heavy power, PE 1-2.5 main line range and maximum jig weight of 56g, it is suited to casting and working a broad range of saltwater lures.
Spiral X Core
Spiral X Core is Shimano's newest and most advanced blank construction technology. By integrating Spiral X carbon tape construction with Toray Nanoalloy® technology, Spiral X Core constructed blanks benefit from up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than rods built with Spiral X. Shimano is unique to the market by applying by high-strength carbon tape with this unique and patented Spiral X construction.
Hi-Power
Hi-Power X uses diagonally wrapped carbon material to reinforce the blank and suppress twisting during casting. This construction helps maintain stable rod performance while supporting responsive lure control and fish-fighting power.
Carbon Monocoque
Carbon Monocoque grip is a carbon-moulded grip that is lightweight with high sensitivity, transferring even the smallest vibration to an angler's hand. The Carbon Monocoque Grip increases sensitivity by 30% compared to traditional rod handles and utilises a hollow structure that eliminates unnecessary parts of the rear grip to improve weight reduction and vibration transmission.
Perfection Seat XT
The Perfection Seat XT features a seamless, step-free design for a comfortable and stable grip. Its ergonomic shape helps maintain control during casting, lure work and fish fighting while reducing fatigue during extended use.
