The Reel
The Shimano Sienna 2500 FG Spinning Reel is well-balanced, high performance built, and simply a pleasure to fish with. Incorporating the Propulsion Line Management System for longer casts and reduced wind knots, the Sienna uses Super Stopper II for instant anti-reverse with no back play.
Propulsion Line Management System
The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion spool lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off of the spool in smaller loops during the cast which means less slap on the stripper guide.
The Rod
Redesigned for 2025, the Shimano 25 Catana Egi 3.0 Medium Light Spinning Rod is every bit as sharp as the Japanese sword it is named after. Built exclusively for saltwater inshore lure fishing, this crisp, lightweight, and refined rod is the ideal choice for anglers who need a longer rod for maximum casting distance while working squid jigs or other light lures.
With a sensitive 24-ton carbon blank, it offers an impressive feel without sacrificing strength, making it perfectly suited for casting and working size 3.0 Egi jigs.
