Heavy game tackle for offshore fishing
The Shimano Tiagra 80 WA Talica Dual Butt Game Combo combines a Tiagra 80 WA two-speed game reel with a 5ft 6in two-piece fully rollered game rod rated for 80lb line. The setup is suited to offshore game fishing where heavy tackle and controlled winding power are required during long fights.
The dual-butt configuration gives you the option of straight or bent butt setups, while the two-piece rod makes transport and storage more convenient.
The Reel
The Shimano Tiagra 80 WA Game Reel features a one-piece machine-cut aluminium frame, heavy-duty stainless steel two-speed gearing and A-RB bearings for increased corrosion resistance. The two-speed mechanism provides high and low gear ratios for adjusting retrieve speed and winding power during a fight, while the click-stop drag quadrant allows precise drag adjustments. The cold-forged aluminium spool and counterbalanced Septon power handle complete the reel.
The Rod
The Shimano Talica Dual Butt Roller Game Rod combines High Pressure Carbon (HPC) construction with Biofibre reinforcement and Diaflash technology for strength and lifting power under heavy loads. The full ALPS RX roller guide train supports smooth line flow when fishing with monofilament or braided line.
The Custom Carbon Dual Butt System is supplied with both straight and bent butt options, each featuring a Shimano Channel Lock reel seat. The 5ft 6in two-piece rod is rated for 80lb line and is suited to offshore game fishing.
