Improved adhesion
The Sika Primer-209 D is a black, solvent-based primer that's specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to application of Sika polyurethane adhesives. It's used to give improved adhesion on many plastics and paints such as GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS, PMMA, PC, PS and acrylics, alkyds/melamine, powder coatings, and baking varnishes.
Method of Application
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all traces of grease, oil and dust and of sound quality. Thoroughly remove all loose particles and residues. When used with Sika Aktivator, follow application instructions for both products.
Application
Shake the can of Sika Primer-209 D thoroughly until mixing balls are heard to rattle freely. The primer may be applied with a felt or foam applicator or other suitable application tools. Apply evenly a single thin coat of Sika Primer 209 D. Surface treatment and method of application depends on the specific nature of the substrates and the manufacturing process.
