Light, smooth, and sensitive, the PENN Squall 400 Battalion II Overhead Slow Jig Combo is a pleasure to fish with. The smooth yet powerful Squall 300 overhead reel is paired with the light yet sensitive Battalion II rod. A well-balanced combo for slow jigging!
The Reel
The PENN Squall 400 Low Profile Baitcaster Reel offers all the durability you would expect from PENN. The full metal body, 5+1 stainless steel bearing system, and machined brass gears give the Squall durability at its core.
The Rod
With the growth in popularity of the slow pitch jigging technique across the world, PENN answers with the PENN Battalion II Overhead Slow Jig Rod. PENN's RCB2 construction consists of a rolled composite core and outer layers of longitudinal glass to provide a lightweight, thin, and parabolic blank that flexes from grip to tip, distributing weight for extra durability. Tangle-Free Fuji K guides with Alconite inserts, Fuji reel seats, and tapered EVA grips pair for a technical, sensitive, and premium setup. These parabolic blanks offer sought-after durability, balance, and recoil anglers need to work jigs from nearshore bays and sounds to offshore wrecks and bottom structures.
