The Reel
Unleashed with further refined performance to face the big fish head-on in the saltwater scene, the new Shimano 25 Stella SWD 14000 XGD Spinning Reel is designed to level up your performance through industry-leading Shimano reel technologies. Built upon the Shimano legacy of cold-forged HAGANE gears for added strength, new InfinityXross technology extends the gear tooth horizontally to distribute load across the gear tooth more evenly for unequaled gear durability. The debut of Shimano's new XX Tough Drag technology modifies the reel's drag construction by moving the upper washer to the top of the spool and significantly increasing the drag washer size. The result: Greater drag durability and less heat accumulation for added performance.
Combining new spool and rotor innovations with proven Shimano technology increases casting and reeling performance with improved line management. Shimano's new InfinityLoop technology leverages asymmetrical worm shaft grooves that change oscillation speeds depending on the direction of the spool movement to produce a more even line lay and beautiful winding shape. To the angler, InfinityLoop technology increases casting distance and eliminates unwanted drag spikes for a heightened fishing-fighting performance. The combination of the new Anti-Twist Fin — an elastic polymer on the underside of the roller — with a redesigned drag knob and spool lip enhances reeling performance with superior line management.
The Rod
The new Shimano 25 Ocea Plugger Limited S88MH Medium Heavy Topwater Spin Rod takes casting performance to the next level. The unique new guide system, the X-guide Touch Free Titanium guide train, challenges conventional wisdom. By thoroughly analysing the expected reel size and the ideal guide position, a high-frame shape was created that chokes the line to eliminate blank slap and produce stable, highly efficient line movement. The result is increased casting distance, giving your lure more time in the bite zone. It also suppresses wind knots and reduces line damage.
X Guide
The X Guide was born to bring out blank potential to the fullest. Its one-piece, 3D-moulded frame supports the tip guides with a beautiful, strong structure. This design, combined with a calculated inclination angle, actively suppresses line entanglement. The tip guides are light and smalll, and the butt section is equipped with the Aero Titanium X guide for an improved casting feel and greater distance. Overall, the X Guide is Shimano's original high-performance guide, combining superior lightness, casting power, and a trouble-free experience in a single, high-dimension system.
Hi-Power X
Hi-Power X construction is a manufacturing process that uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape on the rod's outer layer to create an array of X shapes. The width and winding angle of the tape are fine-tuned to the specific rod and target fish. This process allows for precise actions, enhanced overall strength, and added twist resistance. The result is a rod that gives you exceptionally sharp and crisp control.
Spiral X Core
Spiral X Core is Shimano's newest and most advanced blank construction technology. It combines patented Spiral X carbon tape with cutting-edge Toray Nanoalloy technology. This results in a rod that's up to 10% more torsionally rigid and up to 15% more compressionally rigid than rods built with standard Spiral X. This unique construction method creates an incredibly strong, high-performance blank that gives you a distinct advantage on the water.
Screw Lock Joint
The Screw Lock Joint provides increased strength and makes assembly and disassembly easy. As you twist the rod sections together, the joint locks more securely, ensuring a tight fit. To detach the sections, just twist in the opposite direction for a quick and simple release.
C14+
C14+ is an original Shimano material reinforced with carbon fibre that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. C14+ is an advanced version of the original C14 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with C14+ are further reduced in size and weight.
The Line
When you're chasing the big ones, your braid needs to be more than just strong – it needs to perform. The Shimano Ocea 17+ Multicolour Braid is engineered for exactly that, delivering a significant edge for serious anglers. This isn't just another line; it's a testament to Shimano's commitment to cutting-edge performance, designed to stand up to the toughest fights our waters can dish out.
Built with an innovative 17-strand construction and IZANAS ultra-high strength polyethylene fibre, this braid maintains a perfectly round profile for superior knot strength and incredibly smooth casting – meaning less tangles and greater distance to reach those distant structures or schooling fish. The unique Heatsink coating is a game-changer, actively dissipating friction heat over extended fights to maintain line integrity, giving you the confidence to lean into that monster fish without worrying about line damage. Plus, its ultra-smooth surface maximises casting distance and accuracy every time. With its multicolour marking, you get precise depth control and can pinpoint that crucial strike zone, whether you're jigging deep or dropping on a specific mark.
If you're serious about your fishing and demand the best in strength, sensitivity, and durability, the Shimano Ocea 17+ Multicolour Braid is an absolute must-have in your tackle box. Get sorted and elevate your game today!
