The key feature of the Shimano Baitrunner is its secondary drag system which maintains a controlled freespool with the closed bail allowing fish to run with the bait. By flipping the lever or turning the handle the primary drag quickly engages. The Shimano Maikuro II Telescopic Rod is part of Shimano’s 2020 Maikuro series, expertly engineered to deliver great value, versatility,and performance. This telescopic rod features highly responsive graphite blanks, making it ideal for taking on freshwater fish and even heavier coastal and reef dwellers. The sleek, modern design sports a matt black finish with white, silver and black trims, while the butt configurations utilise Sea Guide carbon hooded reel seats. A combination of cork and EVA grips were selected for the rod to give it the best transmission of bites. Versatile and efficient, Shimano’s Maikuro rods are tried and true favourites amongst anglers.
