The Kilwell dredge boom pole is constructed using an ALPS 2 piece Alloy bent butt with reel seat to take electric or manual reel. The boom pole is lightweight but super strong 12K carbon and fitted with a tip pulley and a double eyebolt.
The pole is designed to be rigged using a second pulley on the dredge to acheive double purchase. So your dredge line/cable should go from the reel to the pole tip pulley, down to a dredge pulley, then back up to the eye bolt.
The line should be firmly attached the eye bolt.
There is a second eyebolt which should be used to attach a support cord/cable. This should be rigged back towards the bow of the boat. Without this support cable you will risk damaging your rod holder from the immense drag that the dredge will create once you are up to trolling speed.
