Keep highly precise records of barometric pressure readings with this extraordinary German-made Dampened Deluxe Quartz Barograph. This exquisite mechanical barograph features a seven-cell aneroid capsule set that measures variations in the air pressure and transfers that information through a highly precise system of mechanical levers to the writing arm. The effect of temperature changes on the measurement is compensated for with the bimetal elements over the full range of pressures for temperatures between -22 degrees F (-30 degrees C) and 104 degrees F (40 degrees C). The battery-operated quartz movement rotates the solid brass drum once a week (no winding required) and is far more accurate than key-wound movements. Meanwhile, the convenient felt tip pen will last approximately 6 to 8 months without leaving a mess.
This model is dampened to avoid incorrect readings when used on ships or yachts at sea. The elegant mahogany-finished hardwood and glass case is polished to a high luster finish and is hinged for easy access to the movement for change of paper and pen, and also features a built-in chart storage tray that can be accessed from the end of the unit.
